General info : Jean-François Bauret (born September 8, 1932 in Paris, France - died January 2, 2014 in Paris France (aged 81)), was a French portrait photographer. Inspired by Man Ray, he began in the 1950s and then founded his own studio in the early 1960s. In 1967, at the request of the artistic director of Publicis, he produced an advertisement for the Sélimaille brand featuring a naked man in profile; this caused a scandal. In 1975, he published a book composed of naked men's bodies. In 1996, he created the magazine Photographie.com with Didier de Faÿs and Yan Morvan, and, two years later, the Bourse du talent.
